The Concept: The objective of this project was to compose an original score for a skateboarding video, ensuring the music acted as a direct reflection of the physical energy on screen. I opted for an Ambient Drum and Bass aesthetic, pairing high velocity breakbeats with ethereal pads to capture both the intensity and the fluid motion of the skaters.

The Process: Working within Ableton Live, I utilized the integrated video engine to identify critical hit points, such as trick landings and camera cuts. To make the music feel lived in, I applied rhythmic glitch effects and automated spatial filters that reacted to the motion on screen. Instead of a static loop, the track evolves throughout the video, shifting in complexity and timbre to maintain momentum without becoming repetitive.

The Challenge: The primary technical hurdle was maintaining a strict linear sync while preserving the ambient feel of the track. It was essential that the atmospheric layers didn't wash out the rhythmic drive needed to match the speed of the visuals. By using sidechain compression and clinical EQ, I was able to keep the drums punchy and upfront, ensuring every landing felt impactful while the melodic elements provided the necessary cinematic depth.
