The Concept: For this project, I was tasked with completely reimagining the commercial hit "Stay" by The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber using only synthesized audio. The objective was to strip away the acoustic and sampled elements of the original record and rebuild its energetic core entirely from scratch using a basic native synthesizer within Logic Pro.
The Process: The most significant challenge in this rework was figuring out how to turn a standard melodic synthesizer into a fully functional drum machine. Instead of relying on prepackaged drum samples, I used ADSR envelopes, pitch modulation, and white noise to sculpt every kick, snare, and hi hat from basic waveforms. Once the rhythmic foundation was built, I sequenced the melodic elements, pushing the boundaries of what a single native instrument could achieve when combined with advanced MIDI sequencing.
