The Concept: The objective of this project was to produce a commercial radio spot for a fictional upcoming event in Orlando, FL. I was responsible for mixing the provided dialogue, background music, and sound effects into a cohesive broadcast. Additionally, I recorded the final call to action ("get your tickets now") to demonstrate my vocal tracking and processing capabilities.
The Process: Working entirely in Pro Tools, I layered the provided assets, applying targeted FX to specific dialogue segments to enhance the narrative energy. The most significant challenge was dialing in the proper compression settings to balance the music, FX, and dialogue while adhering to the strict dynamic range and loudness standards required for terrestrial radio. I utilized clinical EQ and compression on my own vocal recording to achieve that upfront, punchy commercial sound without sacrificing clarity, ensuring the final deliverable met professional broadcast specifications.
